Sacramento State Beach Volleyball is entering an exciting stage of growth.
 

Our program has been built on a strong foundation, including the tremendous contributions of student-athletes who have competed for both our indoor and beach programs. As Hornet Beach continues to grow, our next step is to build the roster, resources, staffing, competition opportunities and community needed to develop a
complete beach volleyball program with its own identity and following.

Every gift to Hornet Beach Volleyball helps us create a stronger Division I student-athlete experience and moves our program forward — on the sand, in the classroom and throughout the Sacramento community.

BUILD THE PROGRAM
 

Our highest priority is creating the resources necessary to recruit, retain and develop beach volleyball student-athletes while competing against high-level programs throughout the country.
 

Support in this area helps provide:
 

• Beach volleyball scholarships and scholarship endowment growth
• Recruiting and official visit expenses
• Expanded team travel
• Opportunities to travel farther and compete against stronger regional and national competition
• Additional coaching and program support
• Equipment, uniforms and beach-specific team gear

Expanding these resources gives Hornet Beach the opportunity to build greater roster depth, recruit beach-specific student-athletes and continue developing into a year-round beach volleyball program.

BUILD THE STUDENT-ATHLETE EXPERIENCE
 

Competing in sand places unique physical demands on beach volleyball student-athletes.

Repeated jumping, sprinting, diving and long competition days require intentional recovery and athlete care. Providing additional health, performance and team-development resources is an important part of building the program.
 

Donor support can help provide:
 

• Athletic training support during team travel
• Recovery equipment, including compression recovery systems
• Nutrition and post-competition meals
• Performance technology and video equipment
• Team dinners and bonding experiences
• Team retreats and leadership development
• Additional resources that support student-athlete wellness throughout the season

These experiences help our athletes recover, connect as teammates and perform at their highest level.

The Hornet Beach Complex has the opportunity to become one of the most exciting competition environments on campus.
 

Our vision is to continue transforming the facility into a home that serves our student-athletes while creating an engaging experience for recruits, families, alumni and fans.
 

Priority projects include:
 

• A central scoreboard providing scores and updates from each court
• Permanent shade for student-athletes, officials, operations staff and fans
• Additional spectator bleachers
• Cameras and expanded live-streaming capabilities
• Competition and event equipment
• Continued facility enhancements
   

Creating a true home-court environment helps elevate the entire program — from recruiting and competition to community engagement and fan support.

As the program grows, we want the Hornet Beach community to grow with it.
Our goal is to create more opportunities for Sacramento State alumni, families, youth players and fans to connect with the program both on campus and beyond.
 

Future initiatives include:
 

• Hornet Beach merchandise and fan gear
• Beach-specific apparel and traditions
• Concessions and enhanced match-day experiences
• Youth & prospect camps, clinics
• Alumni and donor events
• Digital content, live streaming and behind-the-scenes program updates
   

These initiatives can help create both a stronger following and sustainable new revenue opportunities for the future.
